Candles are more popular than ever. Their soft glow and fragrance create a soothing environment in our home. However, making a good candle is more complicated than many people realize. In this 90 minute, hands-on class, you will learn every step to safely make your own vegan soy candles. Each participant will create and take home two 8 oz candle tins ($20 value) fragranced with their choice of scents. Participants will learn the history and science of candles, as well as the pros and cons of different types of waxes. We will discuss candle making equipment and techniques, wick types, and fragrance as well as troubleshooting common issues. We will provide a detailed handout with step by step instructions and resources for purchasing supplies. Grab a friend and spend an afternoon learning a fun new skill! Children 10 and up may attend with a parent.
