(HRT) uses a synthetic hormone called Premarin (which is derived from female horse urine) which
increases a woman’s risk of contracting Breast cancer 2.3% for each yearof use. What this means is that if you used
HRT for 20 years your chance of getting breast cancer would increase by 46%.
HRT does decrease a woman’s risk ofatherosclerosis, osteoporosis, senility and
